Brylee's Nursery Part 2

Matt and I had a busy weekend leading a kids camp for Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. The children were so precious and on fire on God. They truly understood what it meant to have a relationship with Him and desired to learn more about their Father. It was such a blessing to hang out with them at camp Hargis. We enjoyed beautiful weather while we hiked, swam played games and studied how we learn from the past, love in the now and look to the future. Here is the only picture I took from the weekend.

The night before we left for camp, I whipped up some curtains for Brylee's room. I originally wanted the curtains to be the bottom two fabrics in the picture, but preggo brain appeared at the fabric store and I got a 1/3 yard too short. Matt saved the day by suggesting I use the left over grey material and add a panel to the top. The curtains were definitely a group effort.

I am still working on the bumper pads, so stay tuned for the full shot of the nursery!

Update on Brylee: Currently Brylee's favorite thing to do is to kick Mommy when her bladder is full. This girl does not like to be squished. Anything that cramps her style makes her throw a full forced punch or kick. Do I mind? Absolutely not! I love every kick and punch! I make sure to put my hand on my belly and chat with her any time I feel her move. I still can't feel it from the outside because every time I put my hand on my stomach she stops moving. I know it will happen soon, and I can't wait! I am dying for Matt to feel his sweet daughter! In other news, I call her Brylee girl. I have had the tune of "Spider Pig" from the movie the Simpson's in my head and keep singing Brylee a little song to that tune. It goes like this:
Brylee girl, Brylee girl. We love our, Brylee girl.

Sidenote: I cannot believe I just shared that! :)

20 {and a half} week Brylee Bump

So I have been the worst at taking my 8,12,16 and 20 week bump pictures on the actual day I turn the next week. It is always on a Sunday, and for us Sunday means church and selah. Rest. Sunday afternoon nap. Oh we love Sunday afternoon naps! And really, whose hair looks good enough after a nap to take a bump picture ;). So here we are at 20.5 weeks!

For comparison's sake, here you go:

Brylee's Nursery Part 1

As soon as I knew I was pregnant, I decided I would attempt to make our child's bedding. Before I knew the gender of Baby Franklin, I looked and looked for fabrics I liked for a boy or girl. It wasn't until today that I found exactly what I want for Brylee girl! Here is the fabric:

I hurried home from work today and threw the fabric in the washer, made dinner, put the fabric in the dryer, ate dinner and wallah! The fabric was ready to be cut and sewed! I made the crib sheet first, which took no time at all, maybe 30 minutes max. I then started the crib skirt. Although the four side pieces are not yet connected, I did finish the pieces. Here is a sneak peak:
I used Riley Blake fabric for the bedding and incorporated all three fabrics in the "Remember" collection into the crib skirt.  I used the white material with grey circles to make a small line of piping. I love the way it looks so far! Stay tuned for more updates!

Gender Reveal Party

From the moment we found out we were expecting a child, I knew I wanted to have a gender reveal party! I also knew that I would not be patient enough to wait until the party to find out the gender. Therefore this party would serve as a reveal party for our family and friends. Mom (aka Nana) came up on Friday after our appointment and helped me clean, shop for food, decorate and cook food. I honestly could not have gotten everything ready without her help and Matt's help! She even let me go get a pedicure while she continued to cook.

Here is one picture of an issue we had Friday night. Someone (of course not me) poured grease down the drain

I didn't sleep a wink Friday night because I was so excited! I will let the pictures tell the story of the party!

Mom made this awesome sash! I loved wearing it! Perfect gender reveal sash!

A watermelon baby carriage of course!

Marshmallow and tootsie roll nail polishes :)

The sign in table where friends and family signed in under their guesses.

Baby pictures of Matt and I.

Now, take note of what our family and friends are wearing! They were told to dress their guess!

The Frankin's! (Aka Pop, Honey and a couple of aunts) :)

 Mom!

My friend Abbey made this awesome cake! I loved it! And it tasted phenomenal!

 Some of my girlfriends!

One of our sweet 5th grade girls, Emily!

Passing out silly string! It's reveal time! I can't stop looking at the next series of pictures! There is such joy in the faces of our family and friends!

 It's a GIRL!!

Of course we had to reveal her name! I made a sweet gown with her name on it and wrapped it for the grandmothers to open.

Brylee Marie Franklin is our daughter's name!

 We. Are. Thrilled!
Pink polka dots in the cake!

Brylee received her first gift! How cute will she be in this Alabama cheerleader outfit!? Thanks, Abbey!!

Brylee girl, we cannot wait to meet you! The past two days have been filled with so much joy and excitement! You will be one loved and spoiled little girl!

It's a....{Gender Reveal Appointment}

It was a very long Thursday night! Friday we would find out the sex of sweet Baby Franklin and this girl could not sleep! I was so excited/nervous/anxious. I took the day off work Friday because I knew this would be a day of celebration and planning for the Gender Reveal Party held on Saturday. Matt and I got dressed in our pink and blue outfits (of course I themed us for this special day). The only  picture I have is this one I took in the waiting room. Attractive.

Our appointment was at 9 and wouldn't you know that Dr. Ray was on call so we waited for over an hour! We have typically gotten back to see her quickly but of course of the most important appointment (or at least in my option) we had to wait and wait. We finally got called back to the ultrasound room. My heart was beating so fast. The tech puts the wand up to my belly and what do you know....stubborn Baby Franklin is turned into me, meaning we are seeing his/her spine and back. I pleaded with the tech that we HAD to see the sex that day because of the party happening the next day. She took the measurements and checked the baby's brain and heart. Everything looked great! I think Baby Franklin was just trying to teach us patience (already?!) and what is most important....his/her health. Out of nowhere and without warning the tech says, "You have a baby GIRL!" Shock. Excitement. Amazement. We started at our daughter's three little dots (apparently this is what they look for to see if the baby is a girl). We were thrilled! We still had to keep the gender a secret until the party on Saturday! Stay tuned for the next blog to see the party details!

Moving Baby!

I am two days shy of 19 weeks! My how time flies! In one week from today at this exact time (pending there is not a wait) we will find out the sex of Baby Franklin. I have many posts I want to make to the blog about my wonderful pregnancy journey, but I had to take a moment to write a quick post because......I just felt Baby move!! I have been feeling something for about a week, but today was the first time I was absolutely convinced it was our baby moving! I can't even describe the feeling. It is crazy....a butterfly feeling just like everyone describes. We are so thankful for this sweet child and can't wait to meet him/her. On another note, my belly is getting HUGE! (Or at least I think so!) :). Here is the latest belly picture:
Next Sunday you will see a 20 week picture, and I think you will see quite a difference from 16 weeks!
